Our story

Chop Suey style Asian Chinese food, done right.

Yummy Garden is a family-run neighbourhood kitchen in Van Horne Plaza serving the comforting, generous Chinese-Canadian classics that Toronto has loved for decades: sweet & sour chicken balls, honey garlic ribs, lemon chicken, chop suey, egg foo young, lo mein, chow mein, fried rice and more.

What is Chop Suey style?

"Chop suey" comes from the Cantonese tsap seui — meaning "assorted pieces." It's the foundation of North American Chinese cooking: fresh vegetables, tender meat or seafood, and a savoury sauce, tossed hot and fast in the wok, and served over rice or noodles.

At Yummy Garden we cook every dish to order the traditional way — high heat, aromatic garlic and ginger, crisp bean sprouts, and 100% vegetable oil. Nothing sits under a heat lamp.
